5th grade Select’s first game was slated against the NE Playmakers, an unfamiliar foe. The game started with a 10-0 lead for ASA, and wound up being a 38-18 win.  The second matchup was against the S.E. Mass Silk. The Silk took an 17-7 lead in the first ten minutes. ASA was cold and could not produce buckets. The first half ended with a 28-18 lead for the Silk.  ASA 5th clawed their way back into the game in the second half to a taking a 41-40 lead but fell just short losing 43-42 win.

5th Select qualified for Bracket Play via points differential and battled a very strong NE Storm team to the finish losing 52-47. Although ending the weekend at 1-2, this team learned a lot, about what it takes to play at an Elite level.

It was another exciting weekend for ASA 7th Select as they would compete against a few of the top programs in the State. Game one, ASA 7th Select would be out sized, but would battled to the end dropping their first game to the eventual Tournament Champions Evolution. In their second game ASA would set the tone early with their full court pressure, jumping out to a 30-2 lead over GT Elite. ASA would never look back in this game taking a commanding victory 59-21. Sunday morning would bring another exciting win over the Boston Bobcats 68-45.

After their win over the Boston Bobcats ASA 7th Select would qualify for bracket play. They would draw a first rough matchup against another Evolution Team. The game would go back and forth throughout, before falling 57-59. ASA 7th Select player of the weekend goes to Ryan Donahue who averaged 15 points throughout the weekend. His ability to continually run the court and attack the rim would open up continuous scoring opportunities.
